MAATEE & SONS started with members who have been active behind the scenes

in various select shops and as clohting brands overseas,

offering thoughtfully designed clothes for adults, centered on a unique aesthetic born from a touch of wit.

"MAATEE & SONS" is a new brand by Taiki Matsumura, known for tim. TAIKI MATSUMURA, which launched in the fall/winter of 2019.

The brand name "MAATEE" is derived from "Matsutei" (松貞), a phonetic play on "Matsusada Gofukuten" (松貞呉服店), a kimono shop once run by Mr. Matsumura's grandfather. This was combined with "Marty," a popular name in places like NY where he first started his brand.
"& SONS" signifies a tribute to the traditional clothing history passed down through generations, common overseas, and the intention to inherit it in a new form, thus forming the brand name "MAATEE & SONS."
